COVID & Cancellation Info & Policies

What should my child wear and bring?

  • Closed toe shoes are mandatory.
  • Comfortable farm clothing that can get soiled.
  • Jacket or hoodie suitable for rain if needed.
  • Ballcap or hat
  • SUN SCREEN

What are your age restrictions?

  • The alpaca summer camp is available to children ages 8 thru 16.

Will my child get to pet the alpacas?

  • Yes!

Will my child just be free labor…like in the movie “Holes“?

  • No!  The “Daily Chores” last only a few minutes.  Your child will learn the importance of the daily chores and team up with other children for a brief hands-on experience.

Do alpacas kick?

  • While rare, yes alpacas might kick when they feel threatened from behind.  Your child will receive safety instructions and be supervised while working with alpacas.

Do alpacas spit?

  • Yes.  Alpacas spit at each other when they feel threatened or they are competing for food.  While it’s rare for alpacas to spit at humans, we do occasionally get caught in the cross-fire.

How does weather effect the Summer Alpaca Camp?

  • This is life on the farm.  These sessions take place rain or shine and warm or cold.  Even in rainy conditions, children will only be in the elements intermittenly for short periods of time.  In the event of severe weather, we will focus on indoor activities for the safety and welfare of your children.
